With a little help from good friends Dead Dog’s Eye & SPECIAL GUESTS, the Foundation raised the roof, raised the bar, and most importantly, raised over $1,800 for deserving entities in the Bloomfield, Glen Ridge, Montclair area of New Jersey.
February 6, 2016 was a special night of Beatles music from the groundbreaking (as always!) middle years of the Fab Four, and with family, friends, and supporters all aboard, everyone joyfully sang along with such classics as “Yellow Submarine” and “Good Day Sunshine,” “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” and “A Day in the Life,” “Penny Lane” and “Strawberry Fields.”
The money will be put to good use immediately, as the Foundation plans to make two $500 donations to worthy causes in the area, one in Bloomfield, and the other in Glen Ridge.
Thanks to the dedication, generosity, hard work, talent, and sheer will of SPECIAL GUESTS Laura Birdsong, Jimmy Cowan, Ray Gehringer, Dave Goessling, Meg Patrick, John O’Connor, Miguel Rodriguez, Bru Rossman, Tommy Strauss, Kit Tedesco, Ed Warren, and Brad Winchell, DDE and the Foundation pulled together and delivered a brilliant event full of spirit and fellowship, all to the soundtrack of over 40 beloved songs by the lads from Liverpool.
It was a real gas, man, and totally outta sight! A splendid time was definitely had by all.
Stay tuned for upcoming events hosted by the Foundation and DDE, which for the Beatles ‘66 – ‘67: The Psychedelic Years consisted of Chris Brennan from Watching Mountain Riders (WMR) on drums, Doug Gillespie on guitar and vocals, James Harr on bass, Steve Runyon from WMR on keys, and Matt Sullivan on guitar and vocals.
And as John Lennon so eloquently said, “All you need is love.”
